Nora Springs - Civil War Stacked Arms Monument - GPS Coordinates: 43.144133 by -92.997716

This impressive monument in Park Cemetery has been missing the upper stacked arms portion for many years due to vandalism. Ron Hoel of Nora Springs deserves great credit for having the monument restored to its original appearance. Also restored were the large mortar shells. The plaque on the monument reads "Dedicated to the memory of unknown heroes of the War 1861-5." The cemetery is located on the east side of town - take N Wyatt off E Congress/Highway 122. The monument is in the center of the cemetery by the flagpole. Photos were taken 8/18/ 25. The restoration was completed earlier in 2025.
