April 21, 2018               135th Annual Encampment of the Allied Orders

    9:00 - 4:00                                         Department of Iowa

                                                           Veterans Memorial Hall

                                                                    Waterloo, Iowa

Built in 1915, this was the home of the Robert Anderson Post #68 G.A.R. (November 25, 1881 - January 3, 1936).   Other than the folding chairs, it looks as if they just locked the doors and said good-night.  If you have never been here - you will want to attend.  Many, many artifacts to study.

Veterans Memorial Hall

One block away is the Waterloo Ramada Inn.  Twenty-five rooms have been blocked for us for Friday April 20 and Saturday April 21, with a cut-off date of April 1st. Rooms will be $111/night, taxes included.  Reservations can be made by phone at: 319-233-7560, tell them you are with the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

The Factory City Grill within the Ramada, serves breakfast.

Between the Ramada and the Veterans Memorial Hall is a parking garage.  The Ramada will validate parking for those staying there.  Those not staying at the Ramada will be issued a parking permit from the Hall.  There is NO parking at the Veterans Memorial Hall.  Those needing parking permits will need to contact Senior Vice Department Commander Krock by April 1st.
