Conrad - Veterans Monument - GPS Coordinates: 42.223767 by -92.883783

This black granite memorial honors Veterans from all wars. The 23 Civil War soldiers from the region are inscribed on the monument. It is located in the Conrad Cemetery at the west entrance to town. Photos taken 7/2/13.

Grundy Center - Stacked Rifles Monument - GPS Coordinates: 42.365983 by -92.788516

This unusual “white bronze” or zinc monument is about 6 feet plus the height of the rifles. It was erected by the WRC and local citizens in 1903 and dedicated to unknown soldiers. Rose Hill Cemetery is on the west side of Grundy Center on Highway 175. There are three cemeteries together at the same location - Rose Hill, Fairview and Sacred Heart. The monument is on the northern edge of the cemetery. Photos taken 8/21/10.
